HAPPY SUPER BOWL WINNERS DAY!!! GOOOOO RAVENS!
I hope all of you had a safe and exciting super bowl Sunday! I watched the game at home with the hubbin, and it was awesome!
Here’s a photo recap for those of you who don’t follow me on Twitter or instagram (@NapturalNicole):
Now that I’ve had adequate time to recover, I wanted to share the deets of my recent trip to Miami and some of the natural hair things I learned on the way…
If you’ve ever tagged a pic on instagram #naturalgirlproblems- then you know what I’m talking about. Travelling with natural hair has got to be one of the biggest concerns for newbie naturals:
1. How will I maintain moisture?
2. I will NOT have time for Cowashing?
3. 3oz bottle for products? Yeah, right?!
I hear you. I travel all the time for work, and these TSA restrictions on bottle size are killing me! How can you expect me to fit everything I need into this?!
Fortunately, all my work related travel has forced me to get creative, and learn how to downsize.
I recently traveled to Miami, and my game plan was to just wear my new Creta girl wig in a bun the whole time.
That’s the super simple easy way to travel. Wash and braid in advance, then pack your empty spray bottle- fill a travel container with your favorite sealing oil (Almond oil for me). Easy.
But I was travelling to sunny Miami- and Zola the Frola, had to make an appearance
To pack for an ‘expanded’ regimen I included the items above (empty spray bottle, container of favorite sealant) and I added a container of leave in conditioner (kinky curly knot today), and a container of Aussie Moist conditioner (for Cowashing). I had all the essentials for post swimming, wardrobe changes, and a fantastic fro!
I spent next to no time doing my hair, and for the wedding I just threw on a lacefront wig and some red lipstick to up the glam factor
It was a great weekend, and it was so fun to escape the freezing cold of Baltimore, MD- plus Zola the Frola definitely was happy to stroll South Beach in the middle of winter!
Now that I have my travel regimen down, I can’t wait to go back!
What’s your travel regimen, Curlies? What products make your list?
