Winter Protective Styles- ‘Creta Girl’ by FreeTress (1/2 wig)

This winter, wigs have been in HEAVY rotation on my protective style list. I love my Crochet and Jumbo braids- but wigs….

They are just so easy.

Here’s a new one I picked up because of countless glowing reviews on YouTube-

Creta Girl- FreeTress

Her name is ‘Creta Girl’ by FreeTress- and I love her. She’s about a 3b/c texture, soft natural curls…and BIG. Like major, Chaka Khan big. I’ve seen some reviews where people thin her out or cut her- and she still looks great. This review is on Creta, out of the box. I purchased her at my local BSS (after going to FIVE sold out stores!) for $24.99. She is available online.

Creta is a half wig, so I have to leave out a portion of my hair in front, to blend with her. Since I have tight, spiral corkscrew curls (4a)- I flat twist my hair, to match the wig’s texture:

The texture blended perfectly, and looked natural and soft. The hair is long- about armpit length (16″ if straightened). I thought about cutting and shaping her to a shorter length (and probably will eventually)- but I intend on styling her into a high bun for a wedding, this weekend, so I’m keeping the length for now. Here’s what she looks like long:

love her!

I’m trying to channel my curly Kelly Rowland fab, right here! This wig is too fierce- timid naturalistas, need not apply!

I took pics with a center part, but in my YouTube Video Review-Creta Girl I messed around a bit, and tried a side part too. Either way, looked fab.

I’ll post pics and deets when I work out the high bun situation- Curlies following me on Instagram and my Facebook Page will get first look!!

Hope you’re having a happy, nappy week, ladies!

Have you tried Creta Girl? Is another wig your ‘go to’ for protective styling?

    • Thanks SO much for checking out my blog- I’m a long time DTB reader! I love my Creta Girl wig! Technically, she is a full cap wig, but I believe she looks best when worn as a half wig. Hope you find another great winter protective style (Crochet Braids, maybe?)
